Where to Find the First HAL Room in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Secret HAL Rooms can be found hidden in Kirby and the Forgotten Land and the first one can be found fairly early in the game. With HAL Laboratories being the developers behind the newest Kirby adventure, there are hidden easter eggs that directly reference their brand within the game. With this being Kirby's first big step into the third dimension, players will need to look behind every corner to find all of its secrets. Waddle Dees are the main collectible of the game as they are being captured and locked in cages. It is up to Kirby to explore the Forbidden Lands and liberate them from captivity.
Each stage is given a list of objectives for Kirby to clear while exploring. While a few of these will be available from the beginning, a handful will be hidden. In order to unlock these hidden missions, the player will need to do something within the stage that correlates to the hidden message. For example, finding a red tulip on a level will reveal the 'Collect Red Tulips' mission. Reaching the end of the stage will also reveal every hidden mission bio. When exploring Natural Plains, it can be difficult to find the HAL Room since it's not connected to any in-game objective.
The first HAL Room in Kirby and the Forgotten Land can be found in the Rocky Rollin' Road stage of Natural Plains. Upon approaching the end of the stage, make sure to have the Ranger Gun Copy Ability. Before grabbing the goal, there will be a target for Kirby to aim at. Charge up the Ranger Gun and fire at it to reveal a staircase that reaches the roof. From the roof, slide down to find the first HAL Room in the game.
Upon entering this room, players will notice a handful of powers that are not yet available in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This room gives players early access to them and grabbing them within this level will make them available in the Waddle Dee Shop. Breaking the HAL Blocks will also give extra Star Coins that can be used to purchase more Copy Ability upgrades. HAL Rooms are also given special music to reward the player for discovering them. After grabbing everything in the room, head to the Warp Star in the back and it will return Kirby back to the entrance.
Now, grab the Waddle Dees in the cage to complete the stage. It's incredibly easy to miss out on this room because of how well hidden it is. In total, there are three HAL Rooms in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. While these don't work towards 100% completion of the game, players should keep an eye out for them during their playthrough. They'll appear in the Wondaria Dream Parade and burning, Churning Power Plant.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available now on Nintendo Switch.
