Among Us Turns Disturbing Tweet Into A Real Mode For April Fools
For one day only, the creators of Among Us have made good on an old April Fools joke, giving fans the opportunity to play the game as horses. Among Us has remained popular since its sudden viral fame in 2020 and has continued to add new content periodically. This temporary event in Among Us comes alongside other April Fool's game celebrations like Pokémon GO's Ditto event, offering many ways to enjoy the silly holiday.
Among Us has become a fixture of online culture in recent years after offering players a way to connect during the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans inspired by the game have produced large quantities of memes, fan art, and more in the years since the Among Us sudden success. Additionally, the community surrounding the game has developed a detailed sub-culture. This has resulted in slang terms like 'Sus' spreading across the internet, while also giving rise to a set of unspoken etiquette rules that keep the game enjoyable for all.
However, the oddities of Among Us are being celebrated in a new way following an April Fool's Day 2022 announcement by AmongUsGame on Twitter, which allows players to access a limited-time "Horse Mode." The Horse Mode comes as a follow-up to a previous post from AmongUsGame on Twitter in 2021, which asked "what if" while presenting an equine version of the familiar red Crewmate. Among Us Horse Mode brings the previous gag concept to life, allowing fans to play a version of the game populated by 'Horsemates' for a single day. The Horse mode will be available until April 2 at 12 AM UTC, giving players all of April 1 to try the humorous alternation.
However, this isn't the first time the Crewmates and Impostors of Among Us have undergone some interesting changes. An update back in November known as the Among Us Comicube Update introduced new roles to the game including Shapeshifters and Scientists. The new roles and altered appearances, while temporary, are a great way to keep content interesting for both new and seasoned players.
