Gemma Collins’ April Fools’ Day joke ruined by awkward spelling blunder as she ‘reveals’ pop career
GEMMA Collins tried to fool her following into thinking she was launching a pop career in a hilarious April Fools’ Day joke.
But the former The Only Way Is Essex star gave the game away early – by making an awkward spelling mistake on the mock album cover.
Gemma, 41, took to her Instagram stories with her April Fools’ joke on Friday morning, trying to convince her fans she was releasing an EP.
The star joked that she had recorded the single ‘Claustrophobic’ and would soon be releasing it to her die-hard followers.
The Towie favourite named her mock song after her iconic Celebrity Big Brother moment, which saw her scream: “I am claustrophobic, Darren.”
The meme, which blew up on the internet following the show, saw Gemma scream wildly at Darren Day as she struggled inside the house.

“Gemma Collins, Claustrophobic,” the image showed a mock-up album cover, hinting at a “pre-release coming soon”.
However, the star forgot to check the spelling of ‘officially’ as the top of the single wrongly read: “Offically single”.
Gemma followed up with a TikTok video alongside her nephew to detail that she had been busy pranking her family all day.
“HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY,” she revealed, ensuring fans understood that the album was just part of her hilarious tirade of pranking.

“I’ve already pranked Rami this morning, who is next? Comment below who’s next on the GC pranking list?” she went on.
It comes days after Gemma revealed she was to the stage in Chicago the musical, playing the role of Mama Morton.
The TV star looked stunning as she shared a clip promoting her career change on social media, revealing the results of her 3.5stone weight loss.
Gemma confirmed she’ll take to the stage for the first time in May.
Posting a black and white shot, Gemma wrote: “It’s official! I’m gonna be joining @chicagoonstage playing Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.”
The Sun revealed the news earlier this month and told how former Towie star Gemma will take over from Sinitta.
A source at the time said: “Gemma has been in secret talks about playing Mama Morton for some time and is very excited about the opportunity.
“She has not signed anything yet as there are still issues to be ironed out with the agreement. But all being well, she will sign in the coming days.”
Towie’s Gemma, who shot to fame on the ITV2 reality show in 2011, has gone on to become a household name courtesy of a host of TV appearances.
The GC revealed her former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Darren helped her land the part in Chicago.
