This is certainly the case for one woman who revealed online that she picked out an engagement ring – only for her boyfriend to give it to someone else.

The woman, whose identity The Sun has chosen not to reveal, shared the unfortunate story along with a video of herself lip-syncing to the song Worst Best Ex by Julia Cole and Alexandra Kay.

In the video, she claimed: “[My boyfriend] told me to pick out my engagement ring but had seven other girlfriends and gave one of them the ring I picked out.”

In the caption of her video, she noted that she “wishes” it was a joke.

She also revealed that a different ex broke off their relationship via text message and moved out of their residence and “took everything” while she was at work.

She confirmed that the two stories were different people in her comment section.

She added that it took her 12 years to give someone else a chance following the upsets.

Of course, viewers were stunned by the poster’s bad luck when it comes to her love life and showed their bewilderment in the comment section.

“Yeah that’ll definitely break someone’s belief in others,” one user wrote.

A third shocked viewer said: “Then people wonder why we’re single for so long after a break-up….”

Other users shared their disturbing dating experiences as well.
