Luke Skywalker's Robotic Hand Unlocked an Impossible Force Power
Of Luke Skywalker's many feats, one he did to save a group of enslaved droids may be one of his most amazing. The Legends of Luke Skywalker: The Manga featured the titular Star Wars hero tapping into the Force with the aid of his robotic appendage. His ability to understand machines and use the Force with precision makes him an even better Jedi.
Luke and Anakin Skywalker are both known for their expertise when it comes to machines. They've also had their fair share of robotic limb use. However, Luke takes his father's abilities a step further when he reveals just how in tune he is with droid machinery when it comes to using the Force. This occurs in The Legends of Luke Skywalker: The Manga, an adaptation of the Ken Liu novel of the same name.
The mangaka of the Japanese webtoon, Leia Organa: Ordeal of the Princess, places Luke in a protocol droid's body within the story "I, Droid." R2-D2 is forced to labor in the mines of a place called The Gem, gathering rare gemstones with many other droids. When Luke begins leading a rescue, he is met with opposition from other droids. However, they aren't acting of their own free will. Another droid, Zeta (the story's narrator), informs Luke that they're being forced to do things by override chips. With Artoo's help, Luke was able to remove her chip and free her from external control. He is set to face another enforcer droid, but Zeta doesn't want him killed since they're like her; this sets Luke up for an incredible feat.
Once Zeta informs Luke about what component is causing the droids problems, he is able to form a crazy plan. She says that the override chip can be disabled if "a single logic gate can be flipped". However, doing this requires "a precision few droids could perform, let alone a human." This is especially true since the Jedi is going up against many enforcer droids. Instead of facing each enforcer droid or destroying them all because the threat is too high, he looks to the Force. With his intimate knowledge of droids and machines, as well as the precision granted him with his hands and mind, he manages to flip the logic gate on EVERY droid - saving them all.
While that may sound simple, Zeta explains why this is an absolute miracle. Luke "flipped the few dozen logic gates scattered across trillions of gates in enforcers all across the deep." This is something that Zeta believes "no organic and no droid could do." Because Luke is both in part, he is capable of doing things that are seemingly impossible. He has a precision that is unheard of and a connection to the Force beyond the average Jedi. Thanks to his special skillsets and experiences, Luke has the ability to free not just his friends from danger in a tight squeeze, but also many droids from slavery. Luke Skywalker is a hero to even overlooked beings within Star Wars' galaxy, capable of impossible actions, cementing his place as one of the galaxy's best Jedi - particularly when it comes to using the Force.
