Sunny Sunday surf for all

0

Hello Friends,

Swell’s faded dramatically overnight, but there were still head high sets to be had as Sunday got off to a sunny start.  Wind was a light NW before 0800 and while it’ll pick up, it’s set to stay the same direction. Swell at sea was 2 metres at 12 seconds from the SE. As you can see from the pics, there’s a lot of pent up surf demand and both the beach and the point were well populated from the get go. Beachwatch reports good water most places apart from the lagoon entrances. Ocean temp has cogged down slightly to 22C. First tide of the day is the 1.56 m high at 0940.

Swell’s set to dissipate steadily and by midweek it may be flat or nearly so. The end of the week currently is shaping to have some waves, but with ESE wind and showery weather. Conditions might improve by Sunday as the swell holds in the 1-2 metre range and wind drops off. But that’s a week away, so lots will change in the meantime…

Enjoy the sunshine, and take a chill attitude with you if you’re going for a surf – everybody’s pretty keen.
