This Morning fans baffled as Dermot O’Leary ‘goes missing’ and arrives ‘late’ leaving Alison Hammond to host alone
THIS Morning fans were left baffled when Dermot O’Leary left co-host Alison Hammond to “present alone” as he arrived late.
Ahead of Monday’s edition of the ITV show Ranvir Singh – in for Lorraine Kelly – cut to Alison who said: “Can you believe this? He is running late – but I’ve heard he is going to arrive in style.”
Ranvir, who was interviewing fellow TV presenter Patrick Kielty at the time, offered him up if Dermot couldn’t make it on time, to which Alison replied: “Come on over!”
Opening This Morning just moments later, Alison told viewers: “Hello and welcome to This Morning.
“It’s supposed to be me and Dermot all week but obviously he’s forgotten. I can’t believe this, it’s really embarrassing.”
But the camera then cut to Dermot making his way into the studio in a tiny car – the world’s tiniest, in fact.

Alison was left in hysterics and branded her co-host “so extra” for the stunt.
However some viewers were baffled by the whole thing.
One wrote on Twitter: “Cringe start to the show.”
Another said: “Why are Dermot and Alison pretending he’s not been there at the studios rehearsing all morning?”

And some viewers were disappointed they didn’t get to see Patrick host alongside Alison.
One said: “Wouldn’t mind seeing Patrick Kielty co-presenting This Morning in the least.”
During the same episode fans were left convinced that chef Clodagh McKenna dropped a huge hint she’s signed up for Strictly Come Dancing.
Clodagh, 46, appeared on the show to prepare an asparagus dish for Alison and Dermot.
Because they were discussing the early season of the vegetable, Alison, 47, and Dermot, 48, introduced “asparagus psychic” Jemima Packington who appeared via video link.
After Jemima predicted that Alison will win a BAFTA Clodagh asked: “Am I going to be asked to be on Strictly Come Dancing?”
Despite “casting the asparagus” and saying “not at the moment”, viewers took to Twitter to predict it was Clodagh’s way of hinting she’s signed up for the BBC One show.
