Elden Ring: How To Complete Boc's Questline | Screen Rant
Boc the Seamster is an intelligent demi-human in Elden Ring capable of advanced communication and artisanship, unlike his ethnical counterparts. Tarnished pilgrims will encounter this NPC on the main road to East Limgrave, near the Birdseye Telescope of Lake Agheel. He will call out to the protagonist, asking them for help. However, his physical position will not be apparent at first, as he's been transformed into a small tree in Elden Ring. Therefore, adventurers must follow the sound of his voice to find him and dispel his imprisoning disguise.
After locating the "talking tree" and striking it once, Boc will appear and reward Tarnished ten Mushrooms for saving him. He also mentions that he can make something for the player if he manages to retrieve his stolen belongings from a cave, referring to the Coastal Cave located on Limgrave's western shoreline. Accordingly, Tarnished travelers must go to the beach grotto's Site of Grace to progress his questline.
Inside the Coastal Cave, Boc can be found lying on the ground, writing in pain. His attempt to retrieve his belongings had failed, leaving it up to Tarnished to avenge his despair. At the end of the linear cave, adventurers must slay a Demi-Human Chief duo to acquire Boc's Tailoring Tools and Sewing Needle in Elden Ring. After returning the quest items to the Seamster, he will relocate once the player reloads the area.
Boc the Seamster can be found at the following locations in Elden Ring after Tarnished help him in Coastal Cave:
- Lake-Facing Cliffs, South Liurnia
- East Raya Lucaria Gate, North Liurnia
- Altus Highway Junction, Altus Plateau
- East Capital Rampart, Leyndell
When the protagonist speaks with him at any of these spots, he will offer free garment-altering service for any relevant apparel. To further progress his storyline, Tarnished adventurers must do the following in any order:
- Find the Golden Sewing Needle within a chest at the Church of Vows
- Purchase one piece of Demigod armor from Enia at the Roundtable Hold
- Speak with Melina about Boc at the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace (optional)
Once the conditions above have been met, Boc the Seamster will be able to alter legendary clothing from bosses. Furthermore, once Tarnished has reached his final location at the East Capital Rampart, he will remark about being unsatisfied with his appearance and wishes to be rebirthed by Rennala. From here, players have access to two possible endings for Boc's questline. They can either give him a Larval Tear to be transformed into a human or let him know that he's fine the way he is by using the Prattling Prate "You're Beautiful."
If Tarnished give a Larval Tear, he will relocate to the Grand Library of Raya Lucaria as a human. However, he will no longer provide his alteration services or be interacted with. Upon reloading the area, adventurers will find him haplessly dead. If Tarnished instead tell Boc that he's beautiful, the Seamster will remain at the East Capital Rampart until Leyndell burns down, after which he will disappear. Alternatively, if the protagonist does nothing, Boc will still wind up dead at the Ray Lucaria Grand Library.
