90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Ben Rathbun claims on his fitness website that he feels 25 years old, despite actually being 52 years old, and fans aren't having it at all. A divorced dad of four, Ben went to Peru on the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off to meet Mahogany, his online girlfriend. While Ben’s friends, family, and fans felt like Mahogany was scamming him, Ben still ended up meeting her only to learn about her lies. Mahogany was 22 years old, not in love with him, and felt like Ben was playing games with her by hiding secrets. But nothing could deter Ben from wanting to make Mahogany his future wife as per God’s plan, and perhaps his own interest in dating a woman who’s close to his mental age of 25.
The 52-year-old Ben went to Peru to meet the love of his life Mahogany even when he asked her not to come. Ben picked up visual cues from Mahogany’s body language about how she was uncomfortable around him and still insisted on wanting to meet her parents. There, Ben found out Mahogany’s real age which initially weirded him out since she was as old as his daughter but he wanted her to become her boyfriend anyway. Mahogany abandoning him during their holiday didn’t deter Ben. Instead, he followed her again, wooed her with a teddy bear, and made fans witness a kiss that could easily be one of the cringiest moments in the history of 90 Day Fiancé, which is saying a lot. Ben called the kiss “hot” and “mind-blowing” further adding to his creepiness.
A 90 Day Fiancé fan on Reddit u/Pangalliformes posted a screenshot from what appears to be Ben’s website called Benjamin Sage on which he talks about “The Fountain of Youth Program.” In the write-up, former youth pastor Ben explains that “The Fountain of Youth is not found in a bottle, a supplement, an exercise program or a diet.” Ben calls it a “way of life” which is “very very expensive” since it can cost you “your pride, your preconceived ideas, and your excuses.” In conclusion, Ben guarantees that his program works as he declares, “I’m 52, and I feel 25. So can you” because he offers himself “as the product.”
One of the comments on the thread by u/Procedure_Unique reads, “It’s probably why he feels okay going after a 24.. I mean 22 year old.” As others wondered what Ben means by the “Sage” in his name, others exclaimed they’re looking forward to the Tell-All Part 2 in which Jasmine Pineda calls Ben out and tells him he gives off pervert vibes. Some Redditors think Ben went on 90 Day Fiancé to promote his life coach business. But Ben’s immaturity which Mahogany criticized him for on the show is proven through the words he’s chosen to describe his business.
Not only is Ben out of touch with him claiming he’s 25 at heart, but he’s also sounding more of a snake oil salesman with every sentence in his sales pitch. The last thing Ben needs after his arrest is a new controversy. But Ben made sure he was caught in a new scandal by calling fellow 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days co-star Kim Menzies a predator while narrating his misogynistic “lion and gazelle” analogy. However, with the season over, fans are glad they might never get to hear from Ben again. Perhaps they’ll even forget about everything controversial Ben has ever done or said until another predatory cast member makes their debut on 90 Day Fiancé.
