MASTERMIND viewers have been confused as it seemed one contestant got much harder questions in the general knowledge round.
The most recent episode saw contestants go head-to-head in the semifinal answering questions on topics such as, Jean Harlow, porridge, Alexander the Great and the World Snooker Championships from 1977.
Mastermind fans were livid for contestant Marianna[/caption]The semi saw Marianna McKillop go up against Patrick Buckingham, Gary McKenzie and Richard Aubrey.
They all competed in the final round where they had to score they highest points possible in the general knowledge.
Marianna stumbled over the questions and got quite a number wrong, looking very frustrated when she only scored 18.
She shook her head before walking back to the chair and fans definitely noticed.
Patrick ended up winning the episode with 23 points and will be competing in the upcoming grand final.
“Probably just me but weren’t the early questions for Marianne much harder in general knowledge. That put her off and then it was meltdown,” mentioned one fan on Twitter.

A second added: “Who set those last GQ questions? Einstein? Bit out of order if you ask me.”
A third wrote: “Which member of the production team did this Marianne p**s off on #mastermind ? Her general knowledge questions were A LOT more obscure than the ones that Kraftwerk dude had.”
And a fourth commented: “I thought Marianne’s questions were much harder than Patrick’s! Just not fair, it’s like they wanted her to lose… #mastermind.”
The controversial episode comes after an ex-contestant detailed exactly what went down when she competed on the BBC gameshow.

Sirin Kale wrote about her experience on Mastermind for the Guardian, stating that: “In all honesty, I have no idea why I decided to go on Mastermind.”
Mastermind fans might be shocked to find out that picking the specialist subject isn’t as straightforward as it seems.
Whilst many hopeful contestants know exactly which specialist subject they’d choose – Sirin’s was the Kardashians – you’re not always allowed to pick it.
Sirin explained: “I’m not allowed to”, adding: “Nor am I allowed my second choice (Spice Girls), or my third, the novels of Jane Austen – as both subjects have featured too recently.”
