KATIE Price has spent £179,000 on a pink Ferrari – despite not being able to drive at the moment.

The 43-year-old is currently banned from the road but has treated herself to a supercar for when she can get behind the wheel once again.

A source said: “Katie’s getting a pink Ferrari – it’s worth £179k and she sees it as a gift to herself after everything she’s been through. She can’t wait to get her driving licence back.”

Just last week, the mum-of-five revealed she was having a custom made car designed by entrepreneur Lisa Marie Brown  – the owner of the first pink Maserati and Ferrari in the UK.

Sharing a picture of them together alongside the flash cars, Katie told her followers:  “Good day filming with @lisamariebrown123 and she is designing my new car wooo watch the space. (sic).”

She added: “So, today I’ve met my match, we all know I love pink. One pink to another pink… This lady here is going to be designing my next car.”

Katie has been banned from the roads for more than two years.

In October 2019, she was slapped with a two-year disqualification after withholding the identity of the driver of her pink Range Rover during a crash in Bexley, South East London, the year before.

She got it reduced to 18 months on appeal, but it ended up being extended for a further six months due to totting up by the DVLA for another speeding offence.

Then last September, Katie flipped her BMW on a country road while under the influence, without insurance and while still disqualified.

Three months later, she swerved jail and was given a 16-week jail sentence, which was suspended for 12 months.

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court, Katie was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the community, as well as 20 sessions of rehabilitation. She was slapped with another driving ban, this time for two years.

Speaking about the terrifying crash, newly single Katie said: “I mean I can deal with a lot of things, stress, pressure, I breathe that. Behind closed doors there’s drama, no one’s life is perfect.

“When it hits me personally, that’s what I can’t deal with. I regret getting in the car, I could have killed someone. I could have killed myself. My kids might not have had a mum. It’s awful.

“I was rock bottom at that point. It was a wake up call. I don’t want to be in that situation again. In fact I don’t want to be in a situation where I feel that sad inside that I need to just go and do something, be destructive and hurt people around me because I don’t know how to cope with it.”

The Sun has contacted Katie for comment.
