Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Cameos Teased By James Gunn
James Gunn teases that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature some “wonderful” cameos that are likely to excite “true Guardians fans.” The past year has seen Gunn enjoy massive success following the theatrical release of The Suicide Squad and the subsequent launch of its spinoff series, Peacemaker, on HBO Max. Now, almost five years on from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn is returning for his third Marvel project, which is set to revisit everyone’s favorite group of galactic misfits for their final movie together as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will welcome back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Dave Bautista, and also see the returns of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as the voices for Rocket Raccoon and Groot, respectively. In true Marvel fashion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has remained shrouded in mystery throughout its production, with this likely to continue until much closer to the film's release. It was previously revealed, however, that the film will finally introduce audiences to Adam Warlock, with Will Poulter set to make his MCU debut as the much-demanded character.
Now, Gunn has offered a new, exciting tease for the Marvel upcoming project. Taking to Twitter to update fans on the ongoing mystery whereby a number of Rick and Morty figures have begun to appear on his cart on set, Gunn also uses the moment to tease what the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 crew were working on. The director shares that they are currently in the process of shooting "some wonderful cameos" that are for "true Guardians fans." Gunn's tweet immediately garnered a lot of attention, with many beginning to speculate just who he could be alluding to. Check out Gunn's tweet below:

Production officially kicked off on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 back in November 2021 and is scheduled to wrap later this month. The film is also set to see Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji star in a major role that at this stage remains unknown, with Gunn previously teasing that Iwuji's part was highly coveted by a number of big Hollywood stars. The director also recently tweeted that he was shooting with a "very special guest star," leading many to question the potentially huge scope of this film and just who could make an appearance.
It's fair to say that these exciting teases from Gunn are only fueling the anticipation that already surrounds Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given that there is still a fair amount of time to go before Gunn's Guardians threequel officially hits theaters, it remains to be seen just how the forthcoming events of the MCU will impact the film's overall story. Those who are big Guardians of the Galaxy fans will certainly enjoy speculating which characters the filmmaker could be hinting towards, but for now, it remains to be seen who qualifies as a "wonderful" Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cameo.
