8 Superhero Teams That Deserve A Video Game | Screen Rant

2022 has a trend of superhero teams growing into popularity as they receive video game adaptations. Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad, and Guardians of the Galaxy are paving the way for groups to make a name for themselves and deliver an action-packed game.

Teams that are already established with characters that work strongly as a team and potential for delivering a strong story and gameplay will qualify for this list. As the upcoming games have teams of four or more characters, duos and trios will not qualify but those games would likely be fun too.

The group of young heroes has been gaining in popularity throughout the years with comics and with Hulu's live-action television series. They've united as a team when they discovered that their parents are supervillains part of a cult known as The Pride. Each member of the team brings something new to the table. Nico Minoru is set to represent her team in the Midnight Sons video game.

The game can work well in adapting the groups' origin story in a fashion that allows the players to think on their feet and take control of the characters in-game involving strategy. Each character's different abilities can all add something unique to the game. Chase Stain's fire technology, Karolina Dean's alien powers, Nico's blood staff, and Molly Hayes's super strength would all be cool in video game form. The villains would be The Pride where parents will serve as the boss fights.

Justice League Dark is filled with magic users that deal with mystical threats that the Justice League can't. The team was assembled by the fortune-teller Madame Xanadu after seeing a dark vision of the future. The powerful magic users include Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan, Swamp Thing, and the hero that looks out for himself, John Constantine. The team has an interesting dynamic as no one really trusts John Constantine, but his persuasive tongue is what gets him powerful allies.

Besides the idea of fighting demons, justice League Dark has intriguing villains that could serve as the bosses of the game. Each character in the team has their own style of magic that can separate how they play from each other. The story even plays a lot like the Guardians of the Galaxy game where the player takes control of the leader that makes in-game choices. The game would be a shining light on the dark side of DC.

This game has already been teased to happen with the appearance of Kate Bishop in the Avengers video game. The game can work as something of a sequel while also giving players new characters to play as and a new story.

Wiccan, Hulking, Miss America, and Iron Lad are just some members that make up the team. These characters can make changes to the first game by adding powers that the first avengers never had. Leveling up with each mission, the player can grow with the character all while building up the perfect team. Have them against the Avengers before and a perfect in-game story would be made.

Based in the 31st century in Metropolis, the Legion of Superheroes is a team of young heroes inspired by Superman to do good across the universe. The team protects the United Planets, with earth communicating and working together with other planets. The starting members include Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, and their leader Saturn Girl. More members would join the team with some recognizable names such as Superboy and the grandson of Brainiac.

The game could work as an RPG allowing players to explore all the worlds and chat with the many members of the legion. It could include every member and have them as side characters and allow the players to choose their team for missions would give players a reason to keep playing. With each member's powers and multiple planets to explore, the potential for possibility is endless. The only question that needs to be asked is do you make the game lighthearted or put the characters in a grittier direction?

Often being compared to or mistaken for mutants, only comic book fans know about the Inhumans. Based on the moon, they received their powers from Terrigen Mist when experimented on by the Kree. The Inhumans are led by Madusa and the silent but powerful Black Bolt who could potentially destroy the world with his voice. Other members include Gorgon, Triton, Karnac, Crystal, and Lockjaw.

Never being truly brought into the MCU due to a failed TV series, a video game would be a chance for redemption. Black Bolt's evil brother Maximus seeks to take control as a ruler with his genius-level intellect, making him the go-to villain for the game.

A lesser-known team compared to the likes of the justice league, Stormwatch is a secret organization that watches out for alien threats. Part of the team is a couple who was experimented on by aliens with Apollo using his given solar powers and Midnighter using his cybernetic body and psychopathic tendencies to fight off aliens. Jenny Quantum protects her group using teleportation and force-field powers while Jack Hawksmoor uses alien technology and Projectionist has control over electronic communication.

A video game adaptation can shine a light on the team, increasing their popularity. Fighting aliens always makes for an entertaining game as proven by Halo. Doing it while going around as a superhero and picking up information to keep the organization of Stormwatch secret adds a bit of mystery and excitement.

Although a team composed mostly of villains, this isn't considered a supervillain team (most of the time) as their actions have good intentions. Thunderbolts is a team of villains looking to reform and become heroes.

This often depends on who is in charge as members of the Avengers have stepped up as leaders to ensure the purpose is a success. The Avengers are known for having a friendly rivalry with the Thunderbolts whether the two teams are working together as allies or against each other as enemies.

The Teen Titans have multiple games thanks to the popularity and tie-in of their TV shows. However, Titans is a different version of the team that sees the members as no longer being teenagers but as young adults. Members that have been in Teen Titans video games include Beast Boy, Raven, and Robin now going by Nightwing. Other members include characters that have been a part of different iterations of the Teen Titans such as Miss Martian, Steel (Natasha Irons), and Donna Troy.

A video game adaptation of this team could give fans a fresh new take on the team. It will be something new while giving fans characters that fans grew to love. Seeing all the spells that can be done with Raven and all the animals that Beast Boy can transform into would have players feel like part of the team. Given the fighting and team moves that can be done when combining the character powers, the Titans will prove why they are one of the greatest teams in comic history.
