Brewers C Pedro Severino gets 80-game ban for PED violation

Major League Baseball suspended Milwaukee Brewers catcher Pedro Severino 80 games on Tuesday for violating the league policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

According to a statement from the commissioner's office, the 28-year-old Severino tested positive for Clomiphene.

His suspension for violating the MLB Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program is effective on Opening Day. The Brewers open the season Thursday again
