Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday defied mounting pressure to end truck inspections that have gridlocked the U.S.-Mexico border for days, backing up cargo for miles and spoiling produce shipments, saying he would not repeal his new policy at all bridges until there are more assurances of security.
