NEWS: Three Vees Named To All-Star Teams

PENTICTON, B.C. – The BC Hockey League announced on Wednesday the all-star teams and all-rookie teams for the 2021/22 season which includes three Penticton Vees with goaltender Kaeden Lane, forward Josh Nadeau and defenseman Ryan Hopkins being honoured.

Lane, 20, was named a BCHL First Team All-Star and deservingly so, finishing his regular season career with the 2nd most shutouts in league history at 11. The Burnaby, BC native has compiled a 43-4-1 record over the course of his 50 games played while amassing a 1.76 goals against average and a .923 save percentage in that span. The Northern Michigan University commit has posted a 4-1 record during the postseason, registering a 1.61 GAA and a .935 SV% in five games against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

Nadeau, 18, was named a BCHL Second Team All-Star and is in his 1st season with the Vees and became the team’s first 40-goal scorer since the 2015/16 season. The University of Maine commit scored the second-most goals this season, posting 40 markers on the campaign to go along with 32 assists for 72 points on the season, finishing 2nd on the Vees in scoring.

Hopkins, 17, was named to the BCHL All-Rookie team and finished the season as the league’s 3rd highest scoring rookie defender, posting 7 goals and 24 assists for 31 points from the blue line this season. Another commit to the Black Bears, Hopkins has also added two assists for four playoff games.

F – Cade Littler (Wenatchee Wild)

The Vees have advanced to Round 2 in the BCHL Playoffs as they are set to take on the Prince George Spruce Kings in the Interior Conference Semi Finals. Game #1 takes place on Thursday night with puck drop slated for 7:00 PM from the South Okanagan Events Centre.
