Minecraft's Terrifying Warden Enemy Now Fires Lasers

0

The most recent Minecraft screenshot showed off a slight change to its Warden enemy, and players are going to have to change up their strategies if they want to take down this mob. For experienced players, the Warden was already a big enough challenge as is. The creature isn't even officially in the game yet, and it's already garnered a reputation as the most terrifying enemy in Minecraft.

Wardens are one of the more recent mobs to be added to Minecraft, as part of the upcoming release for version 1.19, "The Wild". This threatening mob is summoned by sculk shriekers and is able to dish out intense damage. Wardens are completely blind and instead rely on movement and sound along with their sense of smell to identify the movement of a player. To top it off, Wardens deal the most non one-off damage of any mob in the game. For many, the concept of an even more powerful Warden is hard to fathom. But this latest Minecraft snapshot shows that the already powerful enemy will be adding a new weapon to its arsenal.

As reported by PCGamesNMinecraft: Java Edition Snapshot 22w15a is the latest release for "The Wild" update and continues development with new features and plenty of changes. The biggest revelation of this latest snapshot, as announced on the Minecraft Twitter account, is the addition of a long-distant range attack for the Warden in the Deep Dark, which displays the Warden's rib cage opening to unleash a devastating sonic attack in a horrific manner, which looks almost like a laser beam. Building up high, standing behind walls, or moving out of range of their melee attack will cause Wardens to switch to their ranged attack. This attack can even penetrate walls, so players must be on their guard when facing off against one of these mobs.

This new attack is sure to give players some headaches when they see the menacing Warden enemy. While it may seem intimidating at first, there are ways to get around the attack and defend yourself. Reddit user thijquint posted a video showcasing how to avoid the Warden's new attack, all just by using a shield. Along with the Warden's new attack, Minecraft also listed new changes and additions coming to the game as well. Some of these updates are new achievements, such as "When the Squad Hops into Town," which is achieved by getting each frog variant onto a lead. Another one is "Sneak 100," which is earned by sneaking past a Sculk Sensor or a Warden unnoticed. Changes to how certain items act were made as well, like carpets such as wool blocks dampening vibrations.

The newest update to the Warden shows just how scary Minecraft can be. These latest changes as well as many others can be expected to land when update 1.19 releases. While there is no current release set for version 1.19 "The Wild," it is expected to release sometime later in 2022. Seeing as how these changes are being made to the Warden, Mojang is seemingly aiming for a much different theme with its next major update. Hopefully, the wait for "The Wild" won't be too much longer.
