Spider-Man: No Way Home Video Makes Ned The Series' Lead
A humorous new Spider-Man: No Way Home video sees Ned Leeds become the main character. Spider-Man: No Way Home debuted in December, setting the box office ablaze on its way to earning over $1.8 billion worldwide. The movie was the third MCU Spider-Man film, following Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. It was also the first film in the franchise to embrace the multiverse, which will continue with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Tom Holland returned to play the titular wall-crawler alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Marisa Tomei, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield.
Spider-Man: No Way Home's story followed Peter as he enlisted Doctor Strange's help to wipe out the revelation of his secret identity, which backfires, opening the multiverse to numerous villains and Spider-Man variants from past franchises. Peter's best friend and sidekick, or "guy in the chair," Ned Leeds, gets his hands on Doctor Strange's Sling Ring during the film. Ned then shows an aptitude for using the ring, even opening portals that introduce the Spider-Man variants while also helping during the film's finale, making him an integral part of the story.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home now available on Blu-ray, Sony Pictures Entertainment shared a humorous new video on YouTube to promote the film's release. In the video, called Ned's Bogus Adventure, Batalon's sidekick is brought front and center as the main character. Utilizing footage from all three MCU Spider-Man films, Maguire's trilogy, and Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man movies, the video sees Ned using the Sling Ring to jump between universes. As Ned hops around, seeing Maguire's Spider-Man fight Bonesaw and Garfield's Peter Parker graduating high school, the video gives all the power to "the guy in the chair," as action sequences are intercut with him tapping away at computers. Further painting Ned as the lead, the video relegates Spider-Man to a special guest. Check out the video for Ned's Bogus Adventure below:

Ned's Bogus Adventure is a play on the time-traveling comedies, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Those films saw the titular characters hopping through time and even going to heaven and hell. Beyond taking inspiration in its title, Ned's Bogus Adventure embraces the humorous nature of the Bill & Ted films, even utilizing 1980s rock music throughout.
While the video shows Ned as a hero, many theorize that if Batalon returns in another Spider-Man movie, it could be as a villain. No Way Home played on the idea, with Maguire and Garfield's iterations of Spider-Man revealing their best friends turned into villains, prompting Ned to tell Holland's Peter Parker that he would never do that. However, many think that Ned could become the MCU's Hobgoblin, doing exactly what he said he wouldn't. While Ned's future in the MCU is still unknown, fans of Spider-Man: No Way Home can now revisit the film on Blu-ray.
