Elden Ring: Where To Find The Ash-of-War Scarab | Screen Rant
The Ash-of-War Scarab is a helmet in Elden Ring capable of reducing the FP cost of weapon arts and skills by 15% at the cost of decreased damage negation. Tarnished builds that are heavily reliant on spamming skills, such as Corpse Piler or Hoarfrost Stomp, will find great use with this helmet. Furthermore, the Ash-of-War Scarab's passive buff can be stacked with the Carian Filigreed Crest. This gear combination increases the FP reduction cost of skills to a total of 35%.
Nevertheless, the primary downside of the Ash-of-War Scarab is that it must be used during combat, unlike the Crimson or Cerulean Tear Scarabs, which apply their passives indefinitely. Therefore, Tarnished are recommended to have a general understanding of any enemy or boss before donning the silver bug helm and potentially risk receiving more damage. On the other hand, the Ash-of-War Scarab's unique design can match moderately well, replacing the headpiece for armor sets with silver or golden shades. Such attire includes the Fingerprint Set, Blackflame Monk Set, Malformed Dragon Set, or even Black Knife Set.
The Ash-of-War Scarab in Elden Ring can be found on a hidden corpse atop the collapsed Tower Bridge connected to the Divine Tower of Limgrave. To reach this location, Tarnished adventurers must enter Stormveil Castle through the front gate. After getting past the initial group of castle guards and ballista defenses, players must head down the path on the right, leading to the Tower Bridge's entryway. However, they will need to be mindful of the elite Lion Guardian guarding the front courtyard.
Once Tarnished arrive at the Limgrave Tower Bridge, they must continue across the overpass to reach the Sending Gate connected to the front steps of the region's Divine Tower. Players will need to tread carefully, as two Halberd Golems and one Golem Archer guard the passageway to the Portal. These Golems are incredibly tanky and deal significant damage, so it's best to circumvent them by sprinting past.
The Elden Ring Golem Archer sits near the end of the collapsed bridge and fires giant arrows at players from a distance. It's quite difficult to dodge these arrows without skillful timing, so Tarnished are advised to hide behind the pillars that line the bridge to avoid being shot. After reaching the crumbled end in the east, continue past the Portal to discover a hidden area. Many adventurers will likely miss this area because it looks like a fatal fall unless they peer down near the ledge. At the right-end corner of the crumbled slope, fans will find a corpse with the Ash-of-War Scarab.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
