Netflix Choose Or Die: 8 Movies & TV Shows Where You've Seen The Cast
If there's a new movie arriving on Netflix, there's a good chance that the millions of subscribers to the streaming service are going to flock to it and make it a hit. That could very well be the case with Choose or Die, which has one of the platform's most intriguing and potentially fun premises.
The film follows a young coder who plays an '80s horror game that unleashes a reality-bending curse that puts many lives in danger. Along with an interesting concept, the movie will bring in viewers because it boasts a pretty impressive cast who you have seen in other notable roles.
Among the lesser-known names in the cast is Carolien Loncq but it's interesting to note that she has one of the longest filmographies of them all. The actor has been working since the early '90s, appearing in dozens of movies and TV shows, as well as on the stage.
A recent role of Loncq's where you may have spotted her is in The Protégé. It centers on a skilled female assassin who vows revenge after the man who taught her everything is killed. Loncq appears in a small supporting role as a woman named Claudia. Her role looks about as small in Choose or Die, playing someone named Maria.
Similar to Loncq, Angela Griffin is a veteran actor who might not be a household name but is someone who has worked a lot over the course of her career. A lot of her performances have come in British TV shows like Mount Pleasant, Crime, and Lewis.
Those who have checked out White Lines on Netflix will likely recognize her as Anna Connor, as she appeared in nearly every episode. The show followed Zoe Walker as she travels to Ibiza to investigate her brother's death. In the upcoming Netflix film, she'll be portraying Thea, though not much is known about the character.
Getting to be part of the epic Lord of the Rings franchise is something truly special as the films are all grand in scale and made Oscars history. While the prequel trilogy, The Hobbit wasn't quite as well-received, they were still movies that received strong critical acclaim.
Ryan Gage is a talented actor who landed roles in the last two entries in the series, The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies. He played Alfrid Lickspittle, the Master of Laketown's deputy. Gage will appear as someone named Lance in Choose or Die.
Similar to the aforementioned Caroline Loncq, Kate Fleetwood is someone who is most known for their performances on the stage. Fleetwood impressed audiences so much there that she was even nominated for the coveted Tony Award for her work in Macbeth as Lady Macbeth.
Choose or Die will likely not require nearly as much drama as she plays someone named Laura and isn't ranked near the top in terms of billing. Though her role will likely not be big, Fleetwood is most recognized by TV viewers for The Wheel of Time, where she portrayed supporting character Liandrin Guirale, a member of a powerful organization of women.
There's a good chance that nobody in this cast is more widely known than Robert Englund. The horror icon is actually so noticeable and renowned that he's playing a fictionalized version of himself in Choose or Die, which is fitting given that it's meant to be a scary movie.
Englund became famous for his haunting portrayal of slasher icon Freddy Krueger. He first took on the role in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984 and continued to do so several times until 2003. He has also shown up in many other horror projects over the years, cementing himself as one of the greats.
Eddie Marsan is yet another one of those actors whose name you might not know but you probably recognize their face. He has shown up in plenty of movies and TV shows over the years including Sherlock Holmes, V for Vendetta, The World's End, Hancock, and so much more.
To get a feel for his acting talents, it's worth checking out Ray Donovan. The Liev Schreiber-led series is one of the most acclaimed in Showtime history. Marsan appeared in every season as Terrence Donovan, the protagonist's older brother with a past as a boxer. In Choose or Die, Marsan plays someone named Hal.
Current Netflix subscribers, especially those in their teens and 20s are almost certain to know Asa Butterfield. The young actor has been shining in plenty of roles throughout his already storied career but he's most widely known for Sex Education.
In the Netflix show, Butterfield plays the protagonist, Otis Milburn. He's an awkward teen who starts running a sex clinic at his school using information he's learned from his sex therapist mother. In this movie, he plays Isaac, a close friend of the protagonist who seems along for the adventure with her.
Speaking of the main character in Choose or Die, it is Kayla. She is one of the only characters to have something explained about her ahead of time as she's apparently a troubled college student who gets caught up in the deadly video game because she needs money.
Kayla is played by Iola Evans, who is relatively new to Hollywood. Although she doesn't have a ton of credits to her name, she did show up in the final season of The 100 as Callie Cadogan. Callie is an important character to series lore as she was the first Flamekeeper and had connections to where the characters end up over a century later.
