LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - How to Unlock K-3PO

0

There are various Protocol Droids in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, including K-3PO, who can be unlocked by completing a side mission found on Hoth. There are a few areas that need to be accessible in Free Play before the mission can be completed, so players will need to spend some time progressing in the main story. K-3PO will also need to be purchased after the mission to be fully unlocked as a playable character in LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga.

K-3PO is in the Protocol Droid class, which means this character has a few unique abilities that can help players while they're exploring the galaxy. Protocol Droids are able to use specific terminals that let them obtain passwords and override turrets, as well as perform a few other functions. This class can also be used to interpret foreign languages, sneak by enemies, or fit into small spaces by disassembling. Protocol Droids have additional abilities that can be purchased with Kyber Bricks and Studs as well.

In order for K-3PO to be unlocked in LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga, players will need to travel to Echo Base on Hoth and the Federal District and Uscru District on Coruscant. To unlock these hub areas, story missions in The Phantom MenaceA New Hope, and The Empire Strikes Back need to be completed. Once Echo Base, the Federal District, and the Uscru District are accessible, players can go to Hoth to start "The Mourning Report" side mission.

The side mission for K-3PO is given by the Apprehensive Announcer in Echo Base. This NPC can be found in the northern part of Echo Base inside the room that has a large hologram in the middle. He will explain that he needs some droid parts from Coruscant in order to rebuild K-3PO. After speaking to the Apprehensive Announcer, players can travel to the Federal District on Coruscant to search for the parts.

The first set of parts can be found by going into the large building that's straight ahead after landing in the Federal District. If the mission is being tracked, a search area will appear on the map in LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga. In the first door on the left, there's an NPC selling droid parts for 3,000 Studs. After buying the parts, players can go back into the main hall. There's another merchant through the last door on the left, but he explains the droid parts were already taken. To recover the parts, players can travel to Coruscant space and take out the ship carrying them. The parts can be collected by flying through them.

The last set of droids parts is located in the Uscru District. After landing, the Outer Rim Arcade can be found in the bottom-left corner of the map on the lower level. The parts can be purchased for 10,000 Studs or earned by completing a challenge similar to the shooting galleries in LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga. Players will have 25 seconds to shoot at least 10 droids. The challenge is very easy if players use a character with a quick rate of fire, so there's no need to waste 10,000 Studs on the parts.

As soon as the rest of the parts are collected, a prompt will appear to return players to the Apprehensive Announcer. After speaking to him, players will need to build the droid, then K-3PO will be unlocked. Once the mission is completed, K-3PO can be purchased for 35,000 Studs, then the droid can be used to explore the galaxy in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
