Sudanese observe Ramadan amid pandemic free constraints

0

Sudanese have restored normal living activities during the fasting month of Ramadan, two years after constraints warranted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  The Sudanese, weeks ahead of Ramadan’s onset, begin preparing for the month long fasting from dawn to dusk, making the favorite beverages, locally called “helo mur” and “ebri.”

Many people hold their iftar meals at public locations, sharing them with others of low-income fellow citizens. The group prayers, Taraweeh, are being held at the mosques again following recession of the pandemic and easing of the health restrictions. – KUNA
