Anime Meets Mythology In New Turn-Based RPG Dislyte | Screen Rant
AFK Arena publisher Lilith Games has announced that its all-new turn-based RPG Dislyte will enter Open Beta on Android and iOS on May 10.
Lilith Games, the publisher behind AFK Arena, plans to host an Android and iOS Open Beta for turn-based RPG Dislyte this coming May. Popular mobile RPG AFK Arena counts among Lilith Games' many popular projects. Such a feat is nothing to scoff at either, considering Lilith constitutes one of the biggest Chinese game developers based on foreign revenue alone. In the last several years, the Shanghai-headquartered studio has deployed multiple mobile adventures, including turn-based RPG Heroes Tactics, RTS title Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade, and real-time warfare adventure Warpath.
Turn-based games have returned to the forefront in recent years, after taking a back seat to more action-oriented experiences for a time. The resurgence of XCOM in 2012 proved integral to the genre's new lease on life in many respects. This especially holds true when taking into account the sheer number of Tactical games that have followed the XCOM model, with Gears Tactics and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle serving as the most obvious examples. When it comes to turn-based RPGs, though, countless games still move to the beat of their own drum, as evidenced by the continued success of Lilith Games.
Today, April 18, Lilith Games announced that its next major project, Dislyte, will receive an Open Beta on Android and iOS mobile devices next month on May 10. Those interested in trying out the gritty turn-based RPG can pre-register for the beta via the App Store and Google Play, so long as they reside in the United States or the United Kingdom. According to a press release, pre-registration ahead of May 10 will additionally net players access to "loads of in-game rewards not otherwise available." Check out the latest teaser trailer for Dislyte in the video linked below:
Dislyte takes place in the year 2027, a time where evil roams freely; as a result, heroes akin to those in several other RPGs must rise up to protect humanity at all costs. The heroes in Dislyte set themselves apart because of their unique powers, though, since each playable character obtained their divine skills from Godly figures across a variety of ancient mythologies - Norse, Greek, and Egyptian included. Thus, players can expect to upgrade abilities inspired by deities such as Odin, Hermes, and Loki.
The Open Beta date aside, Lilith Games has yet to set a firm due date for Dislyte. There's presently no word on a release window for the full game, either. However, the impending Open Beta suggests the turn-based role-playing game could receive a full rollout sooner rather than later. Lilith Games may be ready to share specifics once the trial period comes and goes next month.
Dislyte's Open Beta goes live on May 10 for Android and iOS devices.
