Eric Morecombe's team, which is good enough.
What a rollercoaster they have experienced in the past couple of decades. When I was a kid they were old First Division and a very good side, with the likes of the Stein brothers, Ricky Hill, Steve Foster, Ashley Grimes, Danny Wilson. I remember them winning the League Cup; they played on a plastic pitch and had a policy of no away fans at games, due to hooliganism.
They had a financial collapse and fell through the divisions, ending up non-league and almost going out of business. In the past few years they've gone the other way and now look certain to be in the Championship play-offs. What a fairy tale, should they get back to the EPL. I'd like to see them do it and complete the comeback.
