LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - 10 Character Interactions Every Player Should See
The new LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has so many little details and elements for fans to adore, chock full of references and easter eggs for them to love. One of the best small elements of the game is the character interactions between the two chosen characters the player is using. There are so many of them to discover, and so many of them are hilarious with great references.
Of course, every player should explore many of these as possible just to get a good chuckle or to witness some of the game's best easter eggs firsthand, but there is a handful that stands above the rest in terms of hilarity and quality.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Maul have the greatest rivalry in all of Star Wars, with an unrivaled history and chemistry that makes every one of their encounters epic. For fans of that rivalry pairing them up in this game is a lot of fun.
It is not just the fact that playing free play, causing chaos to bricks across the Galaxy that is fun to see, but so too is their character interaction in which Obi-Wan notes the increased height of Maul. This is, of course, a reference to The Clone Wars, in which Maul is taller than when Obi-Wan first met him due to his new robotic legs, one of many fun easter eggs and references for hardcore fans to love.
Seeing Luke Skywalker fight side-by-side with his father is something many fans have dreamed about over the years, and while it is just in a LEGO video game, this game does allow for it and gives a short, funny, and even awkward interaction.
It is a really simple exchange in which Luke greets his father before Vader kind of awkwardly tells him it is good to see him. It would have been fascinating to see how Anakin would have acted had he survived the entire Battle of Endor and how much his guilt would have taken over his relationship with Luke, if at all.
The prequel trilogy villains are some of the funniest characters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, with Maul, Dooku, and Grievous all having one or two great characters interactions every player should seek out.
Arguably the best is that between Grievous and Maul, in which the former comments on the uniqueness of Maul's lightsaber and hilariously asks to touch it. Grievous and Dooku also have a great interaction in which the latter berates Grievous, who is asking for praise for his lightsaber collection, another one of the hilarious prequel references in the game.
A running joke in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the repetitiveness of Palpatine. This can be seen most notably in the Aurebesh before each of his boss battles, but also in his interactions with Anakin and Vader.
When equipping Palpatine and Anakin, Palpatine recites the iconic Darth Plagueis the Wise question, to which Anakin points out he has heard it many a time. Then, if the player equips Palpatine (NOT the Emperor) with Vader, he asks the same question only to be greeted by a frustrated Vader who is annoyed at constantly hearing the story. It is hilarious to think about Palpatine constantly repeating the story, especially since it is one of the most used and iconic lines in Star Wars for fans.
Jar Jar Binks is not for everyone; that fact has been established pretty solidly over the past two decades. However, he is a constant in prequel-based content, and in this game and more ludicrous content like this, he gets to shine with his idiotic antics.
Perhaps the one moment of his that all fans can enjoy comes in his character interaction with Palpatine. After Palpatine introduces himself as the Senate, Jar Jar says, "Hiya, Senate, Mesa Jar Jar Binks." It is a dad joke that the player does not expect and gives them a laugh whether they want it or not.
Possibly the most underrated aspect of The Clone Wars is the humor of the battle droids, who are so often hilarious in their stupidity and their antics. They bring a glimpse of that energy to this game.
When using two battle droids, and two B-1s that appear in the villain character class, the player witnesses a classic bit of battle droid humor as they greet one another with the iconic "Roger Roger." These interactions are just small but add a lot of character to the game, especially with how comedically and accurately they represent the franchise.
One of the most iconic heroes/villain pairings is Leia Organa and Jabba the Hutt, who, despite not spending too much time on-screen together, create one of Leia's most badass scenes. Their interaction in this game is must-see.
After Leia typically tells Jabba that he makes her sick, he goes on to quite emotionally telling her how sorry he is for his actions and how disgusted with himself he is. This, of course, would never happen in the real Star Wars franchise, but the interaction is genuinely unexpected and even a little touching.
One of the most charming aspects of this game is how unafraid it is to lean into the memes that come out of all movies. That is what happens in this character interaction between two of the sequel trilogy's stars.
When using Rey with, specifically, the topless version of Kylo Ren, she comments on his constant lack of shirt-wearing, to which he replies that the breeze is "liberating." This is perhaps the best exchange between two sequel trilogy characters and pokes fun at one of the trilogy's most memed moments.
The adoration and even obsession that Kylo Ren has with his grandfather get touched on numerous times in the game, always being pretty funny. The peak of this joke, though, comes when the two meet.
The interaction sees Kylo have to compose himself, akin to a regular, everyday person meeting their life's hero, with Vader giving a pretty dry reply asking him what he wants. These are two of the most powerful villains in Star Wars, yet they translate to the ridiculousness of LEGO brilliantly.
Most of the character interactions that occur have a level of humor to them, and while this is not necessarily the funniest of the bunch, it is the best and even the most harrowing.
When Young Anakin and Darth Vader are together, Anakin comments on how cool Vader's suit is, wondering where he can get one, to which Vader replies that all he needs is patience. Even in the realm of LEGO, the fall of Anakin Skywalker remains a tragedy that pains so many fans.
