Who is American Idol’s Sage?
FANS first met Sage McNeely during season 20 of American Idol, when she almost made it all the way.
Now that her journey on the singing competition show is over, fans want to know more about her personal life.
Who is American Idol’s Sage?
Sage McNelly, 21, is an aspiring musician from Valley Village, California.
She rose to fame in 2022 following her run on American Idol.
Fans were first introduced to the rising star after she performed an original song called Again, which sent her to Hollywood.

Prior to her American Idol performance, she released the EPs Carry You Home and Metamorphosis.
How far did Sage make it on American Idol?
From the beginning, Sage impressed the American Idol judges with not only her voice but her stage presence as well.
“Congratulations, you brought a package,” judge Lionel Richie said following her audition.

“The look, the vibe, the voice, the style, the whole thing.”
He continued: “I can’t wait to vote because I do believe this package is going to be a little eye-opener to the rest of those contestants.”
Following her performance, she then made it to the top 20 but found herself singing for safety alongside Katyrah Love, Cadence Baker, Elli Rowe, Allegra Miles, Cameron Whitcomb, Jacob Moran, Jay Copeland, Mike Parker, and Tristen Gressett.
Despite the fight, Sage was eliminated on April 18, 2022, putting an end to her American Idol dream.
While Sage’s American Idol run might be over for now, she took to Instagram where she told fans that this is only the beginning.
“I left it all on that stage and I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity!!” she wrote. “it breaks my heart to leave such a loving group of people. I have truly been blessed with 24 new family members so thank you @americanidol!
“…shoutout to katy, luke, and lionel for going out of their way to take the time and talk to me about what is next and how to conquer this music world!! WATCH OUT!”
