Andrew Garfield Confirms He Wants Tobey Maguire Reunion After No Way Home
Andrew Garfield has confirmed that he would love to work with Tobey Maguire again after appearing alongside him in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The blockbuster, billion-dollar movie saw the return of both Garfield and Maguire's Spider-Men teaming up with the MCU's iteration of the web-slinging hero (Tom Holland) in an effort to fend off a whole host of villains from across different universes. As the marketing for No Way Home ramped up, its central theme of the multiverse led many to speculate as to whether the previous two Spider-Man actors would also appear, especially given that many of their own former adversaries such as Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) and Electro (Jamie Foxx) were confirmed to be in it. Following seemingly endless fan theories and potential leaks, Garfield and Maguire did reprise their roles as the two Peter Parkers for the movie, much to the overwhelming delight of No Way Home's audiences.
No Way Home marked the very first time all three live-action Spider-Men appeared together in the same movie, an element which saw the three Peter Parkers cooperating and supporting each other in a brotherly fashion through their various troubles. But it's evident that the actors got along just as well as their superhuman counterparts off-screen. Along with many behind-the-scenes clips and stills from No Way Home showing the two actors clearly having a whale of a time on set, Maguire and Garfield recently saw a movie together as well, cementing the fact that the two have become firm friends away from the cameras.
In light of this newfound friendship, Garfield has admitted that he would absolutely love the opportunity to work with his fellow Peter Parker on another project. In a red carpet interview with ET, the actor highlights his professional and personal connection with Maguire, calling him "such a great actor and a good buddy," before confirming that he "would love to make something with him, for sure." Garfield has noted the respect he has for Maguire before, as well as his unique experience working with the actor on the MCU hit. But the star has also claimed that he would be keen to work with both Holland and Maguire in another project similar to No Way Home, with Garfield wanting more multi-Spider-Man movies for the three Peter Parkers to appear in again. That being said, this particular interview suggests that he would love to reunite with Maguire whether it's in another Spider-Man entry or not, implying that he would happily collaborate with him on any project regardless of the subject matter.
Given the global success of No Way Home, as well as the unparalleled reactions from audiences to Maguire and Garfield's return, the prospect of seeing the two stars on screen together again might not be so unlikely. Even if MCU pragmatics render producing another triple Spider-Man movie difficult, the evidently strong friendship between Garfield and Maguire may help persuade some filmmakers to reunite them in another unrelated project. Either way, fans will no doubt be delighted by the friendship struck up between the Peter Parkers as a result of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and will likely be eagerly anticipating their next on-screen collaboration.
