Mom-of-two proudly shows off her cheap ‘baby wagon’ hack – but gets trolled for the idea

0

WHEN she found a hack that converted her stroller into two-tiered transport for her infant and toddler, one mom rushed to share the trick online.

But she didn’t expect the heavy backlash that would follow in the comments when they were flooded with critics who dragged her, calling her hack “unsafe” and “scary.”

Jasmyne Soto is a mom of two kids under two years old, so any hack that makes navigating the world easier is quite welcome.

She turned to TikTok to share her “toddler wagon” idea with other parents.

“Every time I use my UPPAbaby stroller like this people always stop, ask and admire,” Soto wrote in the video’s caption.

Showing off her baby in the stroller, Soto panned the video to the front where her toddler was seated in another, lower level.

“All I do is use the bassinet part as a toddler wagon,” the proud mom revealed.

Eager moms praised Soto for her genius hack and expressed their plans to use it themselves.

“Looks smart, I was about to sell the bassinet part,” one mom wrote. “Keeping it!”

Another mom said she rushed to pre-order the stroller and bassinet – even though she’s still just pregnant with baby number two.

“Oooooohhh. New idea. I can also use it for storage,” one mom mused, and Soto confessed she had thought the same thing.

“Pre two babies, definitely used this at Target for my things instead of pushing this and a shopping cart,” Soto confessed.

But not all the comments were positive: plenty of people, parents or not, slammed Soto for what they deemed an “unsafe” setup.

“My toddler would be crawling out of that in an instant,” one mom said, while another wrote, “Mine would have been down the street by now.”

“Unstrapped and way higher than a real wagon,” one mom observed.

“I hope you get lucky and nothing scary happens to your little ones while riding like that.”

“Not being able to see what the loose toddler is doing in the front makes me say hard pass,” a different mom said.

“You know why no one else does it?” another viewer wrote.

“Because it is not tested and approved. Safety above everything,” the commenter added.

Soto was quick to respond.

“I feel like you are judging me and I don’t see how because you do not personally know me and unfortunately Jesus isn’t hiring” Soto snipped back.

One man weighed in – literally – with specifications for the specific model of stroller.

“The recommended weight is 35lbs to 45lbs for the bottom adapter so please be careful,” he wrote.

When Soto called the person out for being “so precise” with his knowledge, he admitted he didn’t have kids of his own – but he added that he worked for the stroller brand for years.

Soto apologized and thanked him for the info, even tagging him in other comments to help with user questions.

Although the adapters are approved for higher weight limits, parents should still be cautious trying this hack in the field.

The Sun reached out to UPPAbaby, and a representative confirmed that the bassinet attachment “has only been tested and approved for use with an infant up to 21lbs.”

The representative referred to the bassinet’s manual and confirmed that none of the stroller attachments should be used in any way other than their intended use.

Despite the warnings in the comments section, several moms declared they would try the wagon hack with their own kids anyway.

“The stroller is made to be able to add an extra seat,” one mom reasoned.
