Sister Wives: Why Janelle's Gift Giving Is Being Called Into Question
Janelle Brown from Sister Wives has always been the most practical wife in the bunch, but a gift she gave years ago is causing her some added stress, thanks to fans bringing up an old clip. Usually, the Brown family's gift exchanges aren't filmed, but now that the video has surfaced, it seems like fans think Janelle may not be the best gift-giver in the family. Kody Brown's second wife gave a present that fans aren't too impressed with.
Arguably, Janelle and Kody Brown have always had one of the healthiest Sister Wives marriages. From day one, Janelle was one of the main breadwinners for the family. She left the home each day to go and earn a paycheck. She has six children with Kody, and when she left the family home, the responsibility of raising the kids fell on Christine Brown. Throughout the years, Janelle has stood by her family and remained optimistic about polygamy, even though Kody seems to be losing control when it comes to keeping the family dynamic positive. Since Sister Wives season 16 ended, some fans have been re-watching old episodes. Certain viewers stumbled across a clip of Janelle trying to gift an odd present to her oldest son, Logan Brown.
A Reddit user by the name of @autumn7689 shared an old clip of Janelle trying to gift Logan an odd family memento. The thought behind the present was extremely moving, but some followers took issue with the present. In season 5, Logan was getting ready to head off to UNLV for his freshman year. At the family's "going away" party for him, Janelle decided to give Logan a blanket that featured the Brown family tree. The item has each family member's photos on it, and it left fans (and Logan) inwardly cringing. Logan smiled and thanked his mother, but in a confessional, he revealed, "there is no way I’m taking this to a dorm with me."
Thread participants agreed that the quilt was a horrible gift for a teenage boy, writing that it was, "Very tacky. They really try to push the family thing for the show." Logan from Sister Wives seemed to bounce back after getting the surprising gift, and most likely left the blanket at home, safely tucked away in the back of his closet. Logan actually flourished while attending University, and even met his future wife, Michelle Petty. It is safe to assume that there was never a Netflix and chill night under that family garment.
Janelle never shared her thoughts on the gift, but most likely, she felt that it was a cute gesture that showed her love and support. While becoming homesick could have been a factor, it looks like Logan made it through just fine. Sadly, for Janelle, no matter how long ago the gift exchange was, Sister Wives fans have no intention of letting her live it down. She will most likely be mocked for her gift choice in the future.
