The Boltdrake Talisman is an accessory in Elden Ring capable of increasing one's resistance to lightning attacks by 13%. The two upgraded versions of this Talisman further enhance this value to 17% and 20%, respectively. The Boltdrake Talisman is an effective piece of defensive equipment when facing enemies that can deal heavy lightning damage, such as Leyndell Knights, Farum Azula Dragon Field Bosses, or Dragon Cult Incantation-wielding NPCs such as Roundtable Knight Vyke.
Unfortunately, like similar elemental Drake-type Talismans, the Boltdrake Talisman's protective buff is not as effective for PvP encounters. Instead of the 13% to 20% potential negation values that the Talisman and its variants typically provide, these percentages are reduced to 4%, 5%, and 6% when taking lightning damage from other players. Regardless, the Boltdrake Talisman is a must-have accessory for Tarnished loadouts before battling challenging bosses such as Lichdragon Fortissax of Deeproot Depths or Dragonlord Placidusax of Crumbling Farum Azula.
The Boltdrake Talisman's base variant can be found near Stormveil Castle. Starting from the Limgrave Tower Bridge Grace, Tarnished adventurers only need to go up the stairwell leading to the crumbled bridge to discover the Talisman by the left pillar at the entrance. Those who've yet to visit the Divine Tower of Limgrave will need to make their way down from the Rampart Tower to the castle's main gate. Alternatively, they can cross through the Legacy Dungeon's inner ward from the Secluded Cell Grace Site.
To get the Boltdrake Talisman +1 in Elden Ring, players must explore the Old Altus Tunnel in Altus Plateau. Tarnished adventurers will encounter the entrance to this mine by traveling through the valley north of the Erdtree-Gazing Hill. Keep in mind that two Stonesword Keys are required to enter the Old Altus Tunnel. After going down the lift and reaching the Site of Grace, venture into the Dungeon until reaching the first large chamber. Follow the upper level's wooden walkway on the right to a ladder leading to a small room with a shack. Loot the corpse in the back-left corner of the shed to acquire the Talisman.
The Boltdrake Talisman +2 is located near the Dragon Temple Rooftop of Crumbling Farum Azula and is moderately tricky to find. Starting from the Rooftop's Site of Grace, head eastward across the path guarded by Bladed Talon Eagles and an Azula Dragon. After reaching the opposite side, walk to the left and drop onto the hidden ridges below in the northwest. Continue falling onto the ledges until reaching the building at the bottom. After getting to the upper-level balcony, Tarnished will find a lift leading to another secret route beneath the area Beside the Great Bridge. Press onward through the crumbled corridors and up another ladder leading to a small chamber. Look out the window on the right to find a hanging corpse with the Boltdrake Talisman +2 in Elden Ring.
