China capable of coping with Fed rate hikes: official

BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- China has the foundation and conditions to adapt to policy adjustments by the U.S. Federal Reserve, as the country's foreign exchange market has been increasingly resilient in recent years, an official said Friday.

The Fed's interest rate hike is indeed an important external variable for an economy's balance of payments and cross-border capital flows, Wang Chunying, deputy head of t
