Survivor: All of Drea Wheeler's Advantages Explained
During the latest episode of Survivor, fans watched as fitness instructor Drea Wheeler rack in her fourth advantage. This is the most advantages held by one player at once in the forty-two seasons of the show. Unlike old-school Survivor, in the modern era of the game, advantages can make or break a castaway's game.
Impressively, Drea hasn't needed to use any of her advantages, but one doesn't want to be the player sent home with pockets full of advantages. Drea is one of the best players, but she still has to watch out for the others. Let's take a look at each of Drea's advantages and how they can be used to outwit, outlast, and outplay the other castaways.
Drea currently has two extra votes, which can be used at the tribal council to put a vote on another player. In the first episode of Survivor season 42, Drea found an Amulet Advantage with Hai Giang and Lindsay Dolashewich. With all three amulets in the game, they have the power of an extra vote, but if Hai or Lindsay get voted off by the tribe, the extra vote becomes a steal-a-vote and eventually an immunity idol. Drea received her second extra vote when she risked it at the summit with Jenny Kim and Maryanne Oketch. In episode 5, Drea found a hidden immunity idol, which, when used correctly can save a player from being voted out. This brought her advantage count to three. Drea activated the idol's power when she said her secret phrase about potatoes skins being similar to humans. Mike Turner and Maryanne know that Drea also has an idol, but, so far, no idols have been played at the tribal council.
This past episode Drea, a peanut butter hater, volunteered to sit out during the reward challenge. Just like in season 41, Jeff Probst showed the audience the advantage under the bench, and luckily, she improved on season 41 and found the beware advantage. This advantage turned out to be a "Knowledge is Power" advantage. This allows Drea to ask any player during a tribal council if they have an idol or advantage. If any player she asks does have an idol or advantage, they have to give it to her. Since Drea knows that Mike and Maryanne have idols due to the secret phrases, Drea could potentially get her hands on another idol.
Usually in Survivor most advantages are found by male players, but Drea is smashing that stereotype and making Survivor history. If she plays her advantages correctly, this could be the second season in a row that a Canadian Survivor player took home to title of Sole Survivor.
