WORKING in retail can be hard, from long shifts to standing on your feet all day.
But one of the most annoying parts, is customers.
One man, Monty, who used to work at a petrol station M&S has revealed the four types of customers who he would always have annoying interactions with.
Posting on his TikTok account, Its Montyy, he revealed some of the most irritating things customers would do while working at the petrol station.
Although Monty no longer works there, he remembers them all too well, and could often spot which customers would be an issue just by looking at them.
In one video he said: “A customer comes in five minutes before closing time and your shift is ending.”

He implied they would often spend a lot of time in the store, making his shift run later than it should.
Monty also shared how customers at the till would give him the correct change after he had already entered the amount on the till.
Meaning he had to quickly try and work out the right amount to give back to them off the top of his head.
He asked customers to ‘go easy on him’ after a long shift ‘when the customer’s total is £5.46 and they give you a tenner so you press £10 on the till but they give you 51p to get a note back.’

Monty claimed customers always like to make it difficult and instead of giving him 46p they’d give 51p so they’d get a £5 note and 5p back.
And many viewers who worked in retail understood the pain, one said: “No cos I literally say ‘ can’t do that sorry I’ve already processed it on the till can’t change it now’ cos I mentally cannot do it.”
Another annoying occurrence of working in a petrol station Monty claims, is when they go just over a whole number by 1p and then refuse to pay the penny on their petrol.
He said they’d often come to the till and give a note over but not the penny, while Monty had to stare at them awkwardly waiting for it.
Finally, Monty revealed how some customers are always looking to ‘overshare’ their life story with the person at the till.
He said: “Every retail worker has mastered this skill of acting like you care,” and that he was just there to get paid, not listen to it.
Viewers of the videos were left in hysterics, with many saying they had similar experiences.
One wrote: “It’s always after you’ve processed the transaction.”
