Moon Knight Has Second Error With Crew Member Spotted In Episode 4
Warning: Spoilers for Moon Knight episode 4
For the second time, an error with a visible crew member has been discovered in an episode of Marvel’s Moon Knight show. The last two episodes of the Disney+ series have been set in Egypt, where the titular character has been on a desperate search for the tomb of Ammit, a malevolent goddess whose worshippers have been working tirelessly toward her resurrection. Marc’s adventures in Egypt have involved some brutal battles, chase sequences, and a heated encounter with the Egyptian gods of the MCU.
So far, Marc’s exploits in Egypt have involved two noteworthy editing mistakes. The first came in Moon Knight episode 3 during the scene at the beginning in which Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) was chasing members of Arthur Harrow’s cult. When one of his opponents was fleeing on foot through the village, a cameraman could be spotted on the right edge of the screen [via Heroic Hollywood]. The moment, which occurred at the 8:27 mark, will most likely be edited out by Disney in due time. Naturally, the mistake has drawn comparisons to similar incidents that have taken place in the past, albeit in different universes. Mistakes with The Mandalorian and Game of Thrones resulted in a number of jokes and ridicule.
Now, Moon Knight is the subject of a second major editing issue. For the second time in a row, a crew member has been glimpsed in a scene [via The Direct]. At the 18:23 mark, when Steven Grant was shining a flashlight in the dark in the tomb, a crewmember’s leg was included in the shot. The difference with this situation, though, is that the darkness of the scene made it very easy to miss. But with the brightness turned up, the leg can be clearly seen on the far right of the screen. And since the crew member from episode 3 hasn’t been removed yet, Moon Knight currently has two big editing mistakes in need of fixing.
Because of the Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones and the crew member hiding in a season 2 episode of Disney+’s The Mandalorian show, these sorts of issues aren’t unheard of anymore. That being said, they’re still considered to be quite uncommon, especially since they’re normally spotted and edited out before the episodes are released – or simply avoided altogether. So while it wasn’t a big shock that Moon Knight had a cameraman error of its own, it is a bit surprising for the Disney+ show to have two in just one six-episode series (even if the second mistake isn’t nearly as obvious as the first).
What makes the matter even more amusing is the fact that these gaffes occurred in back-to-back episodes. As a result, this will most assuredly cause eagle-eyed viewers to be more alert for this type of mishap in Moon Knight’s remaining two episodes. With this being the case, Marvel will understandably wish to prevent this from happening a third time.
Moon Knight releases new episodes on Wednesdays on Disney+.
