90 Day Fiancé season 9 star Yvette Arellano revealed her thoughts on the 23-year age gap between her and Egyptian partner Mohamed Abdelhamed in a preview clip. The 2022 edition of the popular TLC show features six new couples with varying degrees of relationship troubles. Amongst them are 48-year-old Yve and Mohamed, a 25-year-old man from Egypt. The trailer for 90 Day Fiancé shows Yve gushing over her husband-to-be’s toned physique. However, it also showcases Mohamed’s conservative views and how Yve wearing a bikini to a beach according to him is being “naked.”
Reality stars Yve and Mohamed started talking to each other after he came across her social media profile. Yve wasted no time in replying to his text, and the couple started flirting until she flew to Egypt. Mohamed was a virgin before he met her, according to Yve. But she also claimed that Mohamed is a rock star in bed. At the same time, their cultural differences bother Yve, which could very well be what threatens their relationship. Fans are currently witnessing 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days couple Memphis Smith and her Tunisian husband Hamza Moknii’s relationship crash and burn before their eyes. But it’s not just their religious views that are a red flag for Yve and Mohamed.
It's also the 23-year age gap between them, which Yve seems to think is not a big deal. The YouTube channel for 90 Day Fiancé posted a preview of 90 Day Fiancé season 9 episode 2, which marks the debut of Yve and Mohamed. Yve confesses that she thought Mohamed was a catfish at first when he sent her the “so nice profile” DM. Yve was enamored by Mohamed and started video chatting with him within two days and, soon enough, the couple was talking to each other multiple times a day. “Even though I’m 48 years old and Mohamed is 25, the age thing just doesn’t matter for us,” said Yve. Within a couple of weeks, Yve and Mohamed admitted their love for each other. Yve explained that she’d never had this kind of “connection” with anybody and she just couldn’t deny it.
Two months after they met, Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Licensed Massage Therapist Yve bought a plane ticket and took a leap of faith to go see Mohamed in person. At first, she thought she was out of her mind to take a big risk like this, but watching Mohamed sauntering across the street towards her helped melt all of Yve’s fears away. That moment felt magical to Yve, and she didn't hesitate before saying yes to Mohamed when he pulled out a red ruby ring. Things have moved pretty fast between the two, according to her confession.
This is not necessarily a good sign of the relationship on 90 Day Fiancé since there are things that Yve and Mohamed might not know about each other. The preview at the end of 90 Day Fiancé episode 1 showed Yve and Mohamed already mid-argument, with her asking if she’s replaceable to him. It appears that Mohamed is not interested in a wedding ceremony with Yve because he has another dream. She even asked Mohamed to leave after telling him that she’s “done” and burst into tears. Besides, Mohamed seems to be looking for a mom in his perfect woman, and Yve is not someone who’ll cook and clean for him.
90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
