Kenneth Mortimer was an outstanding corner back, wearing the two jersey, on the Mayo senior football team that contested the 1996 and 1997 All-Ireland SFC finals, and his son Rio from the Claremorris club, will fill the same position for the county minor side in tonight's Connacht opener against Leitrim at James Stephens Park in Ballina.
