Police arrested a 26-year-old member of Ansar al Islam, which is known to be the Bangladesh chapter of al Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), for allegedly carrying out jihadi actvities in Assam's Bongaigaon distict. The person, identified as Syed Ahmed, who was a shoe-shop owner, was arrested on Friday but the incident came to light on Sunday.
