Mrs Hinch fan begs for help getting lily stains out of her new carpet and is inundated with the same unusual reply
SHE got her carpet redone just two months ago.
So when she spilled lily pollen on it, Chai Simmons was quick to take to Facebook to ask for help from other fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch.
Posting on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group, Chai wrote: “Please help..!!!!
“How do I get lily stain out of my carpet..?!! I feel like I’m making it worse..!!
“Carpets only two months old as well.. and it’s really visible.”
She was quickly inundated with suggestions from the other members of the group, but there was one tip that kept coming up.

“Definitely WD40,” one person wrote.
“It happened to me a few months back. I was really nervous about trying oil on my carpet but nothing else had worked.
“It worked really quickly and completely vanished.”
Another suggested using the penetrating oil by spraying it on and dabbing it with kitchen roll.

“Happened to me and I was in tears thinking I needed a new carpet,” the woman added.
“Wouldn’t know it has ever happened now…”
“Definitely recommend wd40 I have very light carpet and it removed all traces of the stain,” a third concurred.
“WD40 is the only thing ive found that works!” someone else wrote.
“But i did tut my husband when he suggested it. I’d tried everything before that. Just spray dab and repeat it will work.”
Someone else suggested removing the middle of the flowers before putting them on display to avoid any such situations.

“That’s why I pull the middle bits out as soon as they start to open and I can get my fingers in,” she wrote.
To which Chai replied: “I always do this… but I must of dropped one and didn’t realise and caught my soon rubbing it into the floor..!!!”
