The Flight Attendant Season 2 Cast & Character Guide

0

The critically acclaimed series The Flight Attendant has returned for season 2 on HBO Max. Season 1 was a success for the streaming platform, landing an astonishing 9 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for lead actress Kaley Cuoco. The dark comedy-drama mystery series centers around Cuoco's character Cassie who gets caught up in a business deal gone wrong, while also coming to terms with the severity of her alcoholism and childhood trauma.

The Flight Attendant is based on a novel by Chris Bohjalian. Kaley Cuoco's production company, Yes, Norman Productions, had bought the rights to the novel with the desire to develop it into a limited television series with Cuoco as executive producer and lead actress. The series joined WarnerMedia's streaming service, HBO Max, which decided to greenlight it for season 2 after the success of season 1.

The Flight Attendant season 2 keeps its riveting, mysterious elements while improving upon its comedic punches. Most of the original cast has returned for season 2, and a collection of new characters will be joining them to keep things fresh, adding some great comedic talent to the roster. Here is the entire cast and character guide for The Flight Attendant season 2.

The Flight Attendant's lead character is Cassie Bowen, played by The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. The series starts off by highlighting Cassie's party-going and promiscuous tendencies. However, the character is forced to reexamine her lifestyle when she wakes up from one of her black-out benders to find her one-night-stand, Alex (played by Game of Thrones star Michiel Huisman), murdered in the bed next to her.  With no memory of her previous night's endeavors and fear of being arrested in the foreign country of Bangkok, she flees the crime scene. To make matters worse she can't get the image of her dead lover out of her head and starts having entire conversations with him within her own mind. She soon learns being arrested is the least of her worries as Alex's assassin starts coming after her to clean up loose ends. However, with the help of her friends and under-cover CIA agent Shane Evans, she survives. The series ends with Shane telling her the CIA wants her as a consultant, which is where The Flight Attendant season 2, episode 1, "Seeing Double," picks up. Kaley Cuoco will also star in the comedy The Man from Toronto later this year alongside stars Woody Harrelson and comedian Kevin Hart.

Zosia Mamet plays Cassie's best friend, Ani Mouradian. Ani is an esteemed lawyer who, in The Flight Attendant season 1, represents Cassie free of charge to help her avoid being a suspect in Alex's death. While digging into Alex's past and business associations, she learns her firm has shady connections with dangerous people. After her boss coerces her into smuggling cyanide pills into a federal prison to one of their clients, she is horrified and resigns from the firm. Ani struggles with trust and commitment issues, and her friendship with Cassie is tested multiple times throughout the series when Cassie puts her boyfriend (but don't call him her boyfriend) Max, in danger. In the end, they reconcile, and Ani does everything in her power to protect Cassie. Zosia Mamet appeared in a couple of episodes of Apple TV+'s Dickinson starring Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld. The actress is best known for her roles in the movie The Kids Are All Right and the HBO series Girls.

Season 2 of The Flight Attendant has introduced several new characters, including Mae Martin's character Grace. Grace is first introduced in season 2, episode 1, "Seeing Double," as Cassie's comical and confident co-worker. Mae Martin is an excellent addition to HBO's Emmy-nominated comedy since Mae is an award-winning comedian and writer. Their stand-up show Dope was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award and was a part of a stand-up special for Netflix called Comedians of the World. They also starred in and wrote the Netflix show Feel Good alongside Charlotte Ritchie and Friends star Lisa Kudrow. In addition, Mae trained in improvisation and sketch comedy at the internationally acclaimed comedy institution, The Second City, where comedians such as Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mike Myers also studied.
