Medusa's Hellfire Gala Look Proves How Amazing Inhuman Powers Are

0

In a new look showing what Medusa could look like at the Hellfire Gala event, artist Mark Brooks gives the Inhuman a showstopping outfit. The second annual Hellfire Gala will welcome some of the greatest heroes and characters from the Marvel Universe and beyond to Krakoa, as high-fashion will take over the mutant paradise. However, one face who likely won't be appearing is Medusa of the Inhumans - but that hasn't stopped Brooks from bringing the heroes' look to life in a stunning piece of fan art.

Medusa is the Queen of the Inhumans and one of the most recognizable faces amongst the powerful race of heroes in the Marvel Comics universe. Medusa, who first debuted in Fantastic Four #36 and was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, can control her hair in amazing ways. Her prehensile red hair can be used as an offensive and defensive weapon, while she can also use it to grab and control things out of her reach. Unfortunately, the character has been largely sidelined since the failure of the Inhumans TV show and the return of the X-Men to Marvel Comics.

With the X-Men's Hellfire Gala soon coming to the pages of Marvel Comics, artist Mark Brooks polled fans on which hero they'd like to see him mock-up in fan art for a high-fashion look for the event. The choices included She-Hulk, Arana, Mary Jane, and Medusa, with the Inhuman capturing 32.3% of the vote. A week after the poll, Brooks shared his stunning take on Medusa, which gives the character a look entirely made from her powers, as her hair becomes a gorgeous red dress.

It feels unfair to call the Medusa costume designed by Brooks fan art, but it qualifies under that category since it's not official art set to appear in the Marvel Comics event. But, if there's still time to include the Inhumans in the X-Men event, the dress made entirely from Medusa's hair would be a no-brainer to showcase. Not only does it fit the high-fashion qualifications of the Hellfire Gala, but it's a brilliant take on her powers.

The Inhumans might be one of Marvel's most iconic superteams, but the recent comic stories have little interest in bringing them back as central players in the universe. It's a shame because seeing Medusa and the other heroes return at the Hellfire Gala would be a lot of fun - especially if she sported a dress that showed off her incredible powers like the fan art designed by Brooks. At the very least, we're glad the Inhuman's glamorous look exists, even in its unofficial capacity.
