Joey Fatone Is Impractical Jokers' Perfect Joe Gatto Replacement

0

Here’s why former NSYNC member Joey Fatone could be the perfect person to replace Joe Gatto on Impractical Jokers. TruTV’s hidden camera reality series Impractical Jokers is considered one of the most hilarious reality shows on television. The series stars life-long friends Joe Gatto, Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray and Sal Vulcano – who make up comedy troupe The Tenderloins – and follows them as they compete against each other in a series of competitive dares and awkward public pranks.

What makes Impractical Jokers stand out from other hidden camera shows is the fact its hosts are the butt of the joke rather than the unsuspecting public, which is one reason why it’s so funny – alongside the genuine sense of camaraderie they share, of course. The hilarious premise has seen the TruTV series air nine successful seasons to date and the franchise got bigger in 2020 with the release of its first feature-length film, aptly titled Impractical Jokers: The Movie.

Impractical Jokers has earned a legion of fans since it premiered its first season back in 2011. The show’s fandom was understandably upset in late 2021 when Joe Gatto announced via Instagram he would be stepping away from Impractical Jokers due to issues in his personal life. The show is set to return for its tenth season in summer 2022 with a series of rotating celebrity guests in place to fill its Joe Gatto-shaped hole, but it seems the remaining Impractical Jokers cast found making the show’s latest season difficult without their long-time pal. However, the guys could already have a perfect replacement for Gatto in the shape of former NSYNC member Joey Fatone who already has several Impractical Jokers cameos under his belt.

Fatone first appeared in Impractical Jokers season 3 in an episode titled “Toasted” which saw the former boyband member fill in for regular cast member Brian “Q” Quinn. He’s since been in seven more Impractical Jokers episodes, alongside appearances in its after-show Impractical Jokers: After Party. Fatone also had a cameo in Impractical Jokers: The Movie, so he’s no stranger to the franchise and its premise – but what are the chances of him actually joining the cast as its new, permanent fourth member?

Currently, it seems that the idea of Joey Fatone becoming Impractical Jokers’ - where Eric Andre has guest-starred - new fourth member has yet to occur to its remaining cast and producers – plus Fatone has a few things going on in his own career, including hosting game show Common Knowledge. Recent reports suggest the remaining cast members have no plans to permanently replace Joe Gatto in the foreseeable future, but if they do then Joey Fatone would make a great addition to the Impractical Jokers cast.
