NYC City Council preempts Mayor Adams with $1.3B spending demands a day before second budget draft

The preliminary budget Mayor Adams proposed in February clocked in at $98.5 billion. If he were to fully incorporate the Council’s demands in his executive budget, it would bring the city’s total spending plan to $99.8 billion for the next fiscal year, which begins in July.
