Chuwi RZBOX 2022 mini PC with Ryzen 7 5800H coming soon
Chinese PC maker Chuwi plans to begin offering an upgraded version of last year’s RZBOX mini PC soon. The new Chuwi RZBOX 2022 has the same design as its predecessor, but the computer’s processor has been upgraded from a Ryzen 9 4900H chip to a newer, higher-performance Ryzen 7 5800H chip.
Chuwi says an RZBOX 2022 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of solid state storage will be available soon for $699.
The little computer has a metal chassis that measures 7.4″ x 7″ x 2.4″ and has a volume of about 2 liters. Under the hood are two SODIMM slots for up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory and two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 3.0 NVMe storage.
The actively cooled computer features a small fan and thin copper heat pipes. And the Chuwi RZBOX 2022 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H 45-watt, 8-core, 16-thread processor with Radeon Vega 8 graphics, and the computer has an AMD RZ608 wireless module with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
With HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and VGA ports, the computer supports up to three displays. Other ports include dual Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, and mic and headset jacks plus a DC power input.
Chuwi says the system supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 as well as Ubuntu and other GNU/Linux distributions.
The company also plans to offer lower-priced models with Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 5 5600H processors in the future.
