Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group
Caring for an individual with dementia requires different techniques than those needed to care for someone who is not cognitively impaired. Alzheimer’s Association support groups encourage attendees to share information, give and receive mutual support, and exchange coping skills with one another. Support group attendees can offer practical suggestions based on their own experiences that may make caregiving easier. Sharing those ideas in a support group can prevent care partners from “reinventing the wheel.”
Our new Caregivers Support Group at the Library is free to all who’d like to attend and will be facilitated by a trained Alzheimer’s Association volunteer. We’ll meet at 10:00 am on the 2nd Friday of each month in the Learning Center on the second floor.
The next session will be on Friday, May 13. NO registration is required.
