Trevor Bauer Suspended for 324 Games

Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. announced today that following an extensive investigation by MLB’s Department of Investigations, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has received a suspension for 324 championship season games (representing two full seasons) without pay, effective today, for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

In accordance with the terms of the Policy, the Commissioner’s Office will not issue any further statements at this point in time.

Multiple outlets report that Bauer will appeal the suspension.

Bauer will not be credited days served for a suspension while on administrative leave, meaning this suspension begins today and will carry into the 2024 season.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports if Bauer were willing to consider a settlement, he could have negotiated for some or all of the 111 games he has missed on leave to be counted as part of the settlement. Bauer instead is appealing, and if he loses, he will miss 435 games.
