CORONATION Street star Sam Aston is loved by loyal soap fans for his role as adorable Chesney Brown.

The actor, 28, has graced soap screens since 2003 – at the tender age of 10.

Sam played the flame-haired little sibling of Fiz Brown and son of Cilla Battersby-Brown, and automatically rocketed into the hearts of Corrie regulars.

He still remains a strong presence on-screen and, fully grown up, his character is a father to quads.

Yet the soap is firmly a family affair for Sam, who lives in a plush countryside home with wife Briony.

His sister Emily, 40, also appeared in Coronation Street as the character Rebecca Palmer for 51 episodes between 1996 – 1997.

She was the teen daughter of Claire Palmer, who was Des Barnes’ girlfriend.

Her plotline saw her character mourning the loss of her father Jeff, before growing to accept Des into her life.

She was left devastated when Des and Claire then split.

Additionally, Sam’s little brother Joseph also starred on Corrie – and now looks completely different.

The child actor, now 30, first appeared on the soap in 2000 as the grandson of iconic characters Jack and Vera Duckworth.

The character was involved in a huge plot involving a custody battle with both sets of grandparents wanting to take care of him following the death of his mother.

But these days Joseph looks very different from the cherubic youngster who appeared on the ITV soap – after swapping acting for gardening.

Joseph is one of three actors to play Tommy, he was preceded by Darryl Edwards who took on the role from 1992 to 1997 and then Chris Fountain later took on the role from 2011 to 2013.

After Corrie he went on to appear in hit ITV series Where the Heart Is for 27 episodes and 3 episodes of Casualty in 2003 before leaving acting behind to focus on his studies.

Now, he spends his days gardening and hanging out with his girlfriend.

There are in fact nine Aston kids – four brothers and five sisters.

Speaking when he was just 16 about his big family, Sam said: “My family keeps me down-to-earth – I don’t think they’d let me go off the rails.

GREY AREA

I was trolled by neighbours for painting building ‘boring’ grey - so got revenge

“My brother, Joe, is my best mate, he really is. He’s 18 and lives at home so we spend all our time together. I’m from a massive family – I’ve got five sisters and three brothers – so that helps, you’ve got a lot of people looking out for you.

“And I always tell myself, ‘It’s just a job’. I suppose I’ve grown up with it – I was 10 when I joined the show – so it’s been a slow process.”
