The 10 Most Powerful Olympian Gods In Marvel Comics | Screen Rant

0

The first trailer for Thor: Love And Thunder hints at the introduction of a major pantheon of gods from Marvel Comics. The powerful figure controlling lightning in the trailer seems to be Zeus, the figurehead of Greek mythology and the most powerful of the Olympian gods. The gods of Olympus play a major role in Marvel Comics lore and many of them are likely to appear alongside Zeus in the MCU.

The most powerful Olympian gods in Marvel Comics rival the might of other major pantheons like the Asgardians and the Heliopolis gods of ancient Egypt in Moon Knight. With Gorr the God Butcher likely hunting all gods in the upcoming movie as he did in the comics, the Olympians will require all of their extraordinary power to survive.

Hercules possesses the greatest strength of all the Olympians and is stronger than even his father, Zeus. His strength exceeds that of most other powerful Marvel Comics icons, which he proved when he took away Mjölnir from a Thor clone in Civil War, one of the best Marvel Comics events.

Hercules' power also makes him invulnerable to virtually any form of attack, though he is vulnerable to some types of magic. He also wields the Golden Mace, an ancient Olympian weapon made out of Adamantine that is as strong as Mjölnir.

Apollo commands light and the power of the sun, creating devastating blasts of energy that theoretically have no limit. The God of Light also uses his ability to manipulate energy to heal other people and also confer superhuman powers on others.

He shares the same basic Olympian powers as others in the pantheon, including the power of Allspeak. Allspeak allows Apollo to communicate in every known language, including all human and alien languages in the Marvel Universe.

Athena shares the same superhuman reflexes, agility, and strength as her fellow Olympians, but outmatches most of them in her genius. The Goddess of Wisdom not only holds vast human and Olympian knowledge but also possesses cosmic awareness.

Her knowledge includes magical and mystical arts, making her one of the most powerful magicians in the Marvel Universe. Her magic allows her to shapeshift into virtually any form as well as alter the shape of other people and objects at will.

The God of Speed lives up to his name. Hermes runs faster than any other Olympian, all of whom also have superhuman speed. He is faster than almost any other character in the Marvel Universe, and the limits of his power have yet to be set in the comics.

An indication of his potential can be found in his ability to fly. Ares flies near the speed of light when traveling through space and between different dimensions. His stamina and endurance exceed that of other Olympians, protecting him from the stress of such terrific speed.

The God of War shares the godlike strength and endurance of his fellow Olympians but his individual power extends far beyond most of theirs. Ares cannot be injured by any conventional means and is also immortal, making him a truly challenging opponent even for other gods.

Ares' true power lies in his ability to instigate war and conflict. Not only is he one of the best martial artists in the Marvel Universe and a master of all forms of combat, but he also manipulates people into warfare and draws energy from the violence they inflict.

Hera possesses the superhuman strength, speed, and stamina of all the Olympian gods. Beyond that, she possesses extraordinary ability when it comes to manipulating matter and energy. She often uses this power to open portals to other dimensions.

Hera also uses her powers to confuse and deceive others, most often Hercules. Her jealousy of Zeus' son, a member of some of the best Avengers rosters in the comics, leads her to create serpents to try and kill him as a child.

As the God of the Seas, Neptune commands water in all its forms. His hydrokinesis extends beyond simply creating waves as he can transform oceans into glaciers and also manipulate the water to generate rain on a global scale.

Neptune demonstrated his power in a battle with Seth, one of the most powerful Heliopolis gods from ancient Egypt. When the people of Atlantis began worshipping Seth instead of him, Neptune destroyed the cult in an epic flood.

Pluto is the God of Death and the Lord of Hades in the Marvel Universe. His position in the pantheon allows him to claim the souls of Olympian worshippers and guide them to the Underworld. He also possesses the power to return people to life.

Pluto's power extends even to his fellow Olympians. He controls life and death for his fellow gods including the most powerful Olympians like Zeus and Hera. When they die, he takes charge of their souls and directs them to Hades.

Nyx is the Goddess of Darkness in the Olympian pantheon. She shares the same godlike physiology as other Olympians, but her individual strength outstrips that of most if not all of her kin. In Avengers: No Road Home #2, she broke Zeus' neck.

She also commands darkness itself. Nyx shapes and molds shadows into constructs including soldiers for her dark armies. She also blinds people with darkness and even blinded the Scarlet Witch, one of the most powerful magical beings in the Marvel Universe.

In the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, Zeus appears to be displaying his extraordinary power. He can generate and control unimaginable amounts of electric energy. He can also transmute energy and matter, as seen in his ability to cast lightning into solid objects like weapons.

All of that is on top of his Olympian strength and stamina. He defeated the Hulk in battle with little effort and also led a massive invasion force of Olympians and Asgardians against the Eternals, displaying his godlike power against cosmically powerful beings.
