The players should be able to adapt as they often played with 3 centrebacks when KP would drop deeper when the opposition had 2 forwards. Although that wasn't a traditional back 5 of 3 centrebacks. Strangely though we never ever changed formation in the last 3 1/2 years apaprently (despite often changing several times during a match with great fluidity).
