Dodgers trim roster by sending Zach McKinstry, Carson Fulmer out

0

LOS ANGELES — Rosters that were expanded to 28 players in the wake of MLB’s lockout had to be cut to the standard 26 on Monday.

The Dodgers got there by optioning utilityman Zach McKinstry back to Triple-A Oklahoma City and designating right-hander Carson Fulmer for assignment.

Fulmer was a replacement for Mitch White, who is on the COVID injured list along with David Price. Price has begun working out at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, and he could return soon.

The eighth overall pick in the 2015 draft, Fulmer was chosen by the Dodgers in the minor-league Rule 5 draft in December. He had a 2.31 ERA  in eight relief appearances with Oklahoma City but did not appear in a game for the Dodgers this weekend.

CHARITY AWARD

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) was honored with the Visionary Award from Liberty Hill Foundation, a social justice foundation in Los Angeles. The award recognizes LADF’s work using its platform to raise awareness and funds to fuel the fight for social justice in Los Angeles.
