[Track and Field] Outdoor Track & Field Falcons compete in SC Relays in final tune-up ...
Winfield, Kan. – The Friends University Outdoor Track & Field Falcons crossed the final hurdle before this weekend's KCAC championship meet by participating in the SC Relays this past weekend in Winfield, Kan.
Highlighting the Falcons' performance was a pair of senior record-setting throwers for the Falcon Men.
Brayden Wells (SR/Wichita, Kan. ) secured a runner-up in the Men's Hammer Throw with a school-record and automatic qualifying mark of 58.12m, while Isaac Campbell (SR/Sedan, Kan.) (16.50m) set a new school mark and also hit the NAIA A standard with a second-place showing in the Shot Put.
The team of Eli Jacobson (SO/Towanda, Kan. ), Avery Stuever (SR/Wichita, Kan.), Aaron Terrell (FR/South Holland, Ill.) & Josiah Bolton (JR/Ellsworth, Kan. ) hit the NAIA B standard in a second-place result (7:47.48) in the Men's 4 X 800 relay at the SC Relays, while Nathan Mier (SR/Wichita, Kan.) posted a runner-up showing (10:20.93) in the Men's 3000 Steeplechase.
The Falcons also got top three results in the Men's Pole Vault from Garrett Lewis (FR/Fate, Texas) (second, 4.05m) and Brian Sweney (FR/Kansas City, Mo.) (third, 3.90m).
In an All-Falcon race, Pablo Sanz-Rillo (FR/Madrid, Spain) won the Men's 5000 RaceWalk and hit an automatic qualifier time of 22:56.33. Jadon Davis (JR/Baltimore, Md.) (second, 24:17.22) and Gage Carr (SO/Bel Aire, Kan. ) (third, 25:19.98) also achieved NAIA B standard marks.
For the women, Moriah Shaw (FR/Cove, Texas) recorded a victory (15.36) in the 100 Hurdles and Makenzie Burns (SR/Goddard, Kan.) won the Hammer Throw with an NAIA B standard mark of 49.54m.
Halle Nagel (FR/Ulysses, Kan.) produced a podium finish (12.39) in the Women's 100 meters and then a runner-up showing (25.60) in the 200 meters.
Current KCAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Kortney Schutt (SR/Wichita, Kan.) continued to shine with a podium finish (43.27m) and an NAIA B standard performance in the Women's Discus, while Emma Willour (SO/Potwin, Kan. ) also finished third (20:12.43) in the 5000 meters.
The Falcons are now in full preparation for this week's KCAC meet (May 5-6), also at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
